Central Provident Fund Included under the CPFIS Unit Trusts and Investment-Linked Insurance Products (ILPs) Performance and Risk Monitoring Report
In 1999, the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board of Singapore appointed Mercer Investment Consulting (Mercer) to evaluate fund managers and their unit trusts for inclusion under the Central Provident Fund Investment Scheme (CPFIS). Starting with the last calendar quarter of 1999, the CPF expanded the appointment to include insurers and their ILPs. Mercer devised a risk classification system to guide CPF members in determining whether to invest in unit trusts/ILPs.
As an additional tool to help CPF members make better investment decisions, Mercer has developed a performance rating system, which rates the unit trusts and ILPs that are included under the CPFIS. See ABCs of Mercer's CPF-Approved Funds Ratings (686K ).
